Insurance forms and verification

In this lesson you will perform the necessary steps for preparing a clean claim for insurance purposes and collecting co-payments that are due to the practice. Completing these steps requires the correct use of managed care policies and procedures and the proper application of the office Policy Manual. A clean claim includes the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes as well as the proper completion of the insurance claim form. You will proofread an insurance form and compare it with the information in the patient’s chart and encounter form. You will indicate which boxes need corrections before the claim can be sent to the insurance company.
